User can be logged in by serial, telnet and ssh to a CLI or to shell. Depends on setting in /etc/passwd.

User with leve 1 logged to CLI can access and change all settings according to manual

  Basic setting overview:
  1 Login to the radio using CLI as an admin user (level 1).
  
  Change ip address
   2 GVFR#c t
   3 GVFR(config)#conf
   4 GVFR(config-Conf)#ethernet
   5 GVFR(config-Conf-Ethernet)#set ipaddress 192.168.1.230 (default)
   6 GVFR(config-Conf-Ethernet)#set addressmask 255.255.255.0
   7 GVFR(config-Conf-Ethernet)#set gateway 192.168.1.1
  
  Set admin password
   2 GVFR#c t
   3 GVFR(config)#conf
   4 GVFR(config-Conf)#async
   5 GVFR(config-Conf-async)#Admin
   6 GVFR(config-Conf-async-admin)#set password
   The screen displays prompt for a new password
   success {new password}
  
  To save the configuration to flash, continue with the following commands:
   2 GVFR#c t
   3 GVFR(config)#conf
   4 GVFR(config-Conf)#misc
   5 GVFR(config-Conf-Misc)#set save on

Check signal
  configure terminal
  rad
  atpc
  get rxsignal

Check data link on sfp
